and people are freaking out that DNS is broken and they have no way to change DNS providers. Using serials or service tags should work. LanSweeper also does warranties and can be free. I used to have a custom function in the technician utility we use here that formed a URL and submitted it to HP to do this function but it broke when HP changed their website. Our Dell rep didnt have a clue what I was talking about when I told him I needed api access to dells warranty API. Anyway, I found this helpful for myself as I didn't realize these cmdlets existed to check HP warranties. You can pipe it out or you could just run the above and copy and paste the result into a new spreadsheet. There are a number of ways to export data into Excel or whatever. $comps = get-adcomputer -filter #get the warranty status and pipe it into an easily exportable format Import-module activedirectory #Import the AD module It makes the assumption that you have set your execution policy and that you have the RSAT tools installed for the Active Directory module: install-module hpwarranty #Install the module So, here is a simple PS script for you to pull computers from AD and check the warranty on them. You can run Powershell commands ad-hoc in the ISE as well as scripts or you can save them and run them as files more akin to a bat file but you need to run them as powershell file.ps1, you can't just run them like a bat because ps1 aren't recognized as executable. It will make you a better administrator and issues like this will seem simple once you know how to do some things. You should probably do a beginner course in Powershell just to get up to speed.
